Richard (Rick) Byrd, Executive Vice President and President of the Interventional Segment at Becton, Dickinson and Company, informed the company of his intent to retire on April 6, 2026, after nearly 25 years of service. Byrd has led the Interventional Segment since September 2022 and previously held leadership roles including worldwide president of Medication Delivery Solutions and worldwide president of Preanalytical Systems. Tom Polen, chairman, CEO and president, acknowledged Byrd's contributions to strengthening BD's portfolio and advancing the company's role as a global healthcare leader. Byrd will remain in his role through June 2026, and BD intends to name a successor prior to his retirement date to facilitate an orderly transition.
