Anterix Inc. has entered into a definitive agreement through its wholly-owned subsidiary PDV Spectrum Holding Company to sell 10 MHz of 900 MHz spectrum to Public Utility District No. 1 of Benton County for $771,000. This transaction represents a strategic expansion of Anterix's utility customer base into the publicly owned utility sector, specifically marking the first private wireless broadband deployment among publicly owned utilities in the Pacific Northwest. The agreement provides Benton PUD with licensed spectrum to build a utility-owned, utility-controlled network covering its 927-square-mile service territory, serving over 58,000 customers across five communities in Washington state. The network is designed to support advanced grid automation, field workforce connectivity, and enhanced outage detection and restoration capabilities, which will help Benton PUD meet Washington's Clean Energy Transformation Act obligations. The transaction is contingent upon FCC issuance of a broadband license, with spectrum delivery expected within 18 months and payment terms structured around this regulatory milestone. Anterix will support the deployment through its comprehensive private wireless platform, including TowerX™ for site optimization and CatalyX® for connectivity management, leveraging its ecosystem of over 150 technology partners. This agreement demonstrates the growing adoption of private wireless solutions across different utility ownership models and expands Anterix's footprint in the critical infrastructure communications market.
