SEC filingNexMetals Mining Corp. announced metallurgical test results from its Selkirk Project confirming production of separate high-grade copper and nickel concentrates with improved recoveries over prior estimates.
NexMetals Mining Corp. released positive metallurgical results from Locked Cycle Tests (LCT) at its Selkirk Project in Botswana, validating a sequential flotation flowsheet that produces separate saleable copper and nickel concentrates. Using large diameter HQ core from the 2025 drill program, the tests achieved 81.3% copper recovery at 30.2% grade (low 0.62% Ni contamination) and 54.4% nickel recovery at 10.9% grade, significantly outperforming the 2024 Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE) assumptions of 70% Cu recovery and 6.8% Ni grade. Copper losses to tailings dropped over 50%, enhancing overall efficiency. Precious metals recoveries include 60.1% Pd to Cu concentrate and 78% total Pd recovery, with first-time assessments of silver and cobalt adding potential upside. CEO Sean Whiteford highlighted these step-changes as de-risking the past-producing asset amid rising commodity prices, positioning Selkirk for commercial options post-New MRE in Q2 2026. Conducted by Blue Coast Research, the ~700 kg composite represents early mine plan grades, supporting flowsheet optimization and a path to Preliminary Economic Study. This advances the project beyond historical bulk concentrate reliance, unlocking value from under-assayed PGEs and byproducts.
