Wheels Up Experience Inc. announced the retirement of its legacy jet fleets (Citation X and Hawker 400XP) from revenue service, completing a major fleet modernization milestone approximately 18 months ahead of schedule. The transition to exclusively operating Phenom 300 and Challenger 300 series aircraft is part of a broader transformation strategy first announced in October 2023. CEO George Mattson highlighted the focus and discipline behind the initiative, noting higher customer satisfaction ratings on the new fleet. The simplified fleet architecture is expected to drive scale efficiencies by better aligning fleet availability, efficiency, operating performance, and customer demand. Wheels Up will fulfill existing member commitments through its safety-vetted network of third-party partner operators, and members will continue to access charter solutions via the controlled fleet and partner network, including benefits from the strategic relationship with Delta Air Lines. This milestone positions Wheels Up for a more consistent, premium, and operationally efficient experience, supporting its goal of building a stronger, simpler, and more scalable aviation platform.
