SEC filingContineum Therapeutics reported positive topline Phase 1b data for PIPE-791 in chronic pain, showing favorable safety and encouraging efficacy trends.
On April 30, 2026, Contineum Therapeutics announced positive topline data from its exploratory Phase 1b trial of PIPE-791, a selective LPA1 receptor antagonist, for chronic osteoarthritis pain (COAP) and chronic low back pain (CLBP). The randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, 4-week crossover trial enrolled 43 patients (23 COAP, 20 CLBP) and met its primary safety endpoint. PIPE-791 was well tolerated with no serious adverse events; most TEAEs were mild to moderate. Exploratory efficacy endpoints showed numerically greater improvements in pain measures (PI-NRS) for PIPE-791 versus placebo, particularly in COAP. The company believes these data support further development of PIPE-791 for chronic pain. The results were disclosed via press release (Exhibit 99.1) and supplemental slide presentation (Exhibit 99.2) furnished under Item 7.01.
